Letter of Intent
LOIs are designed to regulate the movement of players from one team to another during the MFL playing season. Once a player signs a LOI they most first have a written release from the team they signed with before practicing or playing with any other team in the MFL in the same playing season.
Here are the Tie Breakers Rules for the first 3 round of the 2007 play-offs for the Maulers, Thunderbirds, Vikings, Lumberjacks, Pioneers, Rough Riders, Stampede.
Tie Breakers:
Head to head games
Best win / loss record within the League
Best win / loss record against common opponents
Best team with least points scored against them
Coin toss
Here are the Tie Breaker Rules for the next 4 rounds of the NAFL 2007 play-offs!
Division winners are determined by games of division opponents only.
Division winners are automatically given home field advantage in the first round of playoffs.
Overall 10 game standings are used to determine seedlings for rounds 3 and beyond
Teams are rewarded for games played.
Points formula is the tie breaker:
1. Wins count as 2 points
2. Ties count as 1 point
3. losses count as a 1/2 point

2007 NAFL1 National Playoffs Structure
Playoff Structure
NAFL1 – Is made up of all a 64 team bracket format.
NAFL1 Secondary – Complied of NAFL1 level teams.
NAFL2 – A totally separate bracket and league. See NAFL2 Playoffs
Each divisional winner is awarded an automatic playoff spot. The division winners
and an equal amount of wildcard teams can make the NAFL1 playoffs. This year here will be a NAFL1 Secondary bracket. Travel is a primary focus in first round to reduce team expenses. Teams are paired
based on their location. The team with the best overall record, utilizing the NAFL
tie breaking procedure, is awarded home field advantage. Up to 4 wildcard teams per region will travel to the Division winners based on seeding. Number 1 team will play the number 4 team, 2 will play First and second round travel distance is always taken into consideration over seedings. PLEASE NOTE: The business goal of the NAFL is to pay for playoff travel. This was accomplished in 2007 starting in the 3rd Round.
Tie Breakers Rules
1. If, at the end of the regular season, two or more teams in the same division are tied for the lead, the following tie-breaking procedure will be used until a champion is determined.
Points formula is the tie breaker:
4. Wins count as 2 points
5. Ties count as 1 point
6. losses count as a 1/2 point
Paid Playoff Travel
A sister company of the NAFL, the North American Pro Golf Tour (www.naprogolftour.com ) is sponsoring our playoff travel. They have agreed, in writing, to pay for travel beginning in the 3rd round.
- There will be an individual contract to each team sent out prior to the start of playoffs.
- Each team will have up to the allotted amount per round for their travel expenses to game.
- Travel money will not carry over to the next round.
- Travel arrangements will be provided by 360Sports Travel.
*This is ONLY for teams in the NAFL1 playoffs.

9/29 - Bye Round (Our First Round) Seeds 1 and 2 get a bye, 3 hosts 6 and 4 hosts 5)
10/6 - 1st Round Playoffs $0 (Our Second Round) (1 hosts lowest wining seed, 2 hosts highest winning seed)
10/13 - 2nd Round $0 (Our Third Round) (Winners play at neutral field for MFL Championship/ NAFL Northern Division)
10/20 - 3rd Round Regional Championships $5,000 (Northern Winner plays Southern Division winner: ( possible teams: Bulldogs, Lawdawgs, Shockers, Titans) Team with most points in the NAFL points formula hosts.
10/27 - 4th Round Conference Championships $5,000
11/3 - 5th Round Semi Finals $15,000
11/10 - 6th Round NAFL National Championships $15,000
Championship Weekend – All-Star Games
Championship Game
The NAFL Championship game is played in a destination city every year. This allows ample time to prepare to host the game and events surrounding the game. Disney’s Wide World of Sports complex was home to the NAFL championship from 2002-2006.
Other games being played during the same weekend include: NAFL1 Secondary, NAFL2 and two all star games – East Vs West and North Vs South - will be held during the All Star/Championship weekend. There will be a pick up game held called stars and stripes.
This year we will playing holding Championship Weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada.
We will be playing at a facility with the same number of fields as Disney. The field's are artificial turf (Field Turf).

NAFL1 Secondary Playoff Structure
NAFL1 Secondary Bracket was created to reward teams, by giving NAFL1 determined teams a national playoff bracket and chance to play for a national championship. The NAFL1 Secondary is made up of (32) NAFL1 teams invited to the NAFL1 Secondary bracket that just missed qualifying for the NAFL1 playoffs and the remaining slots will be filled with NAFL1 teams that lost in the first round of the NAFL1 playoffs. The losing first round teams must be non-division winners to play in the NAFL1 Secondary bracket. Teams in the NAFL1 playoffs bracket, to qualify, must play in the first round of the NAFL1 playoffs.
NAFL1 Secondary Championship game will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada. There will be no travel money rewarded to this bracket at this time More news to follow in the coming weeks keep updated on NAFL.org
